The Mentally Retarded Offender is a book about criminals who are convicted of a crime, and labeled as mentally challenged. It tells how one qualifies as being a mentally retarded offender. Despite being published in 1971, I still think this book is credible. Mainly because the book was published by the National Institute of Mental Health and Center for Studies of Crime and Deliquency. I could use this book to answer my research question because it will answer what it takes for a criminal to qualify as Mentally Retarded.
